Ripoff at Holiday World of Houston

I took my vehicle to Holiday World of Houston, in Katy, TX, for a failed Rancho adjustable shock absorber on 21 Oct 2009. The adjuster knob would not turn to all positions. The part was under warranty; the service technician said he would order a new one. After four weeks, I had to call to get an update, and after listening to a song-and-dance about the delay was told, it would be in before Thanksgiving. On 9 December, I called again and after listening to another song-and-dance was told, it would be the next week. The part finally came in on 15 December. On 16 December, I went to pick up the part and was informed there was a labor fee for troubleshooting of $56.00 for .57 hours work. Now the problem with this is that there was no labor done. There is no disassembly or repairs possible on the shock absorber. Either the knob turns or it does not. This takes less than a minute to determine. Left with no choice after speaking with the service department I paid the charge and left. I went to a local auto shop to get the shock installed and watched as he pulled up a program to get the work time estimate. The time estimate was .57 hours. It is clear to me that I was charged for an installation time, something that never occurred. I have had numerous problems with the service department in the past, but this is the most blatant example of falsely charging I have encountered. Unfortunately, Holiday World of Houston is the only dealer of Lance Campers in the area and this is where I am forced to go for warrant repairs. I shall now be even more vigilant when doing business with them. Steven Wright
